This article explains how Web60 protects your data and your customers' information through privacy-focused practices.
What Privacy-First Means
Privacy-first means Web60 designs every system to collect the minimum data needed and protect what we store. Your website data stays in Ireland, following Irish and EU data protection laws. We don't sell your information to third parties or use it for advertising.
How Your Data Is Protected
Physical Location
All Web60 servers run in Irish data centres. This means your website files, customer information, and business data never leave Ireland. You can learn more about our infrastructure in Data Centre Locations and Infrastructure.
Access Controls
Only essential Web60 staff can access server systems. Each staff member needs specific business reasons to view any customer data. All access gets logged and monitored.
Automatic Encryption
Every Web60 website gets SSL encryption by default. This scrambles data as it travels between your customers' browsers and your website. Customer form submissions, login details, and browsing activity stay private.
Regular Security Updates
Web60 automatically applies WordPress security patches and server updates. You don't need to worry about forgetting to update plugins or themes that might create security holes.
What Data We Collect
Account Information
We store your email address, domain name, and billing details. This information runs your Web60 account and processes payments.
Website Analytics
Web60 doesn't track your website visitors by default. If you add Google Analytics or similar tools, that's your choice. You can see how to add analytics in How to Add Google Analytics.
Backup Data
We automatically backup your website files and database. These backups stay encrypted and stored in the same Irish data centres. Old backups get deleted after 30 days.
Your Customer Data Rights
When customers fill in forms on your website, you become responsible for their data under GDPR. Web60 provides the technical protection, but you need to handle privacy policies and consent. Our How We Handle GDPR Compliance guide covers your obligations.
Data Portability
You can download all your website files and database backups anytime. If you leave Web60, you take all your data with you.
Right to Deletion
When you cancel your Web60 account, we delete all your data within 30 days. This includes website files, backups, and account information.
No Data Mining
Web60 doesn't scan your website content for marketing purposes. We don't build advertising profiles or sell customer lists. Your business information stays private.
If you're still stuck or have specific privacy questions, contact our support team through your Web60 portal.
