Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2 March 2026. Last updated: 2 March 2026.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies Web60 (operated by SmartHost Web Services Limited, Ireland) uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors interact with the site. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are only set with your consent.
2. How to Manage Your Preferences
When you first visit Web60, a consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose individual categories. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the Cookie Preferences link in the website footer. This reopens the preferences panel so you can update your selections.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.
3. Cookie Categories
Necessary Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive because the site cannot operate without them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | Stores your cookie consent preferences | 182 days | vanilla-cookieconsent (client-side) |
admin_token | Admin panel authentication (only set when an admin logs in) | 4 hours | Web60 server (httpOnly, path: /admin) |
web60_cms_session | CMS editing session (only set when a content editor logs in) | 24 hours | Web60 server (httpOnly, SameSite: Strict) |
Analytics Cookies (Opt-In)
These cookies are only set if you consent to the Analytics category. They help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|
_pk_*, plausible_* | Anonymous usage statistics via Plausible Analytics, self-hosted in Ireland. No personal data is collected. | Session | Plausible script (client-side) |
Marketing Cookies (Opt-In)
No marketing cookies are currently in use. This category exists for future use. If we add marketing cookies, this policy will be updated and the consent banner will re-prompt you to review your preferences.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Web60 does not use third-party tracking pixels, social media widgets, or advertising cookies. Plausible Analytics is self-hosted on our own infrastructure in Ireland and does not set third-party cookies.
If you proceed to checkout, Stripe (our payment processor) may set its own cookies to process your payment securely. These are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
5. Data Transfers
All cookie data is processed and stored on SmartHost Web Services Limited infrastructure in Ireland. No cookie data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
6. Legal Basis
- Necessary cookies: Legitimate interest and the ePrivacy Directive exemption (strictly necessary for the service you requested).
- Analytics and Marketing cookies: Consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. These are only set after you actively opt in.
For a full overview of how we process personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Your Rights
- Withdraw consent at any time by clicking Cookie Preferences in the footer.
- Access and erasure: You can request details of the data we hold and ask for its deletion.
- Browser controls: You can delete cookies or block them entirely through your browser settings.
For data access or erasure requests, contact hello@web60.ie or hello@smarthost.ie. For your full rights under GDPR, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when cookies change. If we add new cookie categories or change how existing cookies work, the consent banner will re-prompt you to review your preferences. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
9. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
