Changing Your Account Email Address

Billing & Account4 min read·

This article explains how to change the email address on your Web60 account.

Step 1: Log into your Web60 client portal

Go to the Web60 client portal login page. Enter your current email address and password. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link.

Step 2: Navigate to account settings

Once logged in, look for "My Account" or "Account Settings" in the main menu. This is usually located in the top right corner of the screen or in a sidebar menu.

Click on "Contact Information" or "Profile Settings". The exact wording may vary, but look for anything related to your personal details.

Step 3: Update your email address

Find the field labeled "Email Address" or "Primary Email". Click in this field and delete your old email address. Type in your new email address carefully.

Double-check the spelling of your new email address. A typo here will cause problems with receiving important account notifications.

Step 4: Verify the change

Click "Save Changes" or "Update Profile". Web60 will send a verification email to your new email address.

Check your new email inbox (including spam folder) for a message from Web60. Click the verification link in this email to confirm the change.

You may also receive a notification at your old email address confirming that the change has been made.

Step 5: Update your password manager

If you use a password manager or have saved login details in your browser, update these with your new email address. Otherwise, you'll have trouble logging in next time.

What happens after you change your email

All future communications from Web60 will go to your new email address. This includes:

  • Renewal notices
  • System maintenance notifications
  • Support ticket updates
  • Security alerts

Your WordPress website itself is not affected by this change. Your website will continue working normally.

If you have multiple WordPress sites on your Web60 account, the email change applies to your entire account, not individual websites.

Important notes

You cannot change your email address if you have outstanding invoices or if your account is suspended. Resolve any billing issues first.

The old email address will no longer work for logging into your account immediately after verification.

If you're changing from a business email to a personal email (or vice versa), make sure someone else at your company knows the new login details.

If you're still stuck with changing your email address, contact Web60 support through the client portal or send an email from your current registered email address for security verification.

FAQ

Q: Can I change my email address if I can't access my old email?

A: Yes, but you'll need to contact Web60 support directly. They'll ask for verification details like your account information and possibly ID to confirm your identity.

Q: Will changing my email affect my WordPress login?

A: No, your WordPress admin login is separate from your Web60 account email. Your WordPress website login details remain the same.

Q: How long does it take for the email change to take effect?

A: The change is immediate once you click the verification link in the email sent to your new address.

Q: Can I use the same email address for multiple Web60 accounts?

A: No, each Web60 account must have a unique email address. One email address cannot be registered to multiple accounts.

Q: What if I don't receive the verification email?

A: Check your spam folder first. If it's still not there, wait 10 minutes and try the process again. Contact support if you still don't receive it.

Q: Will I lose access to old support tickets after changing my email?

A: No, all your previous support tickets and account history remain accessible through your account, regardless of email changes.
