Domain Management3 min read·

This article shows you how to turn domain auto-renewal on or off in your Web60 account.

Checking Your Current Auto-Renewal Status

  1. Log into your Web60 portal at portal.web60.ie
  2. Click on "Domains" in the left sidebar
  3. Find your domain in the list
  4. Look for the "Auto-Renew" column - it will show "Yes" or "No"

If you cannot see this column, click the "Columns" button and tick "Auto-Renew" to display it.

Turning Auto-Renewal On

  1. In your domains list, find the domain you want to auto-renew
  2. Click the three dots menu (⋯) at the end of that row
  3. Select "Enable Auto-Renewal"
  4. Confirm your choice when prompted

Your domain will now renew automatically 30 days before it expires. We will charge your payment method on file.

Turning Auto-Renewal Off

  1. Find your domain in the domains list
  2. Click the three dots menu (⋯) at the end of that row
  3. Select "Disable Auto-Renewal"
  4. Confirm your choice when prompted

You will now need to manually renew your domain before it expires. We will send you email reminders.

What Happens When Auto-Renewal Fails

If your payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds), we will:

  1. Send you an email notification immediately
  2. Try to charge your card again after 3 days
  3. Send daily reminder emails as your domain approaches expiration
  4. Continue trying for 7 days total

If all payment attempts fail, your domain will expire on its expiration date.

Updating Your Payment Method

To avoid failed auto-renewals, keep your payment method current:

  1. Go to "Billing" in your Web60 portal
  2. Click "Payment Methods"
  3. Add a new card or update your existing one

For detailed steps, see Updating Your Payment Method.

Domain Expiration Dates

To check when your domain expires:

  1. Go to "Domains" in your portal
  2. Look at the "Expires" column
  3. Domains expiring within 30 days will show in red

Irish (.ie) domains have a 30-day grace period after expiration. International domains (.com, .net, etc.) have varying grace periods.

If you're still stuck, contact our support team through the "Help" section in your Web60 portal.
