After your migration to Web60 is complete and you have confirmed it in your dashboard, work through this checklist to make sure everything is running correctly. Most migrations are seamless, but it is worth checking each point to catch anything that needs attention.
1. Browse your site
- Visit your site in a browser and click through your main pages.
- Check that your homepage, about page, contact page, and any important landing pages load correctly.
- Look for broken layouts, missing images, or formatting issues.
2. Check your plugins
- Go to your Web60 dashboard and click WP Admin to open WordPress.
- Go to Plugins in the WordPress sidebar.
- Make sure all your plugins are active. Some plugins may deactivate during migration. Reactivate any that are turned off.
- Check that any plugins with licence keys (such as premium themes or page builders) still have valid licences. You may need to re-enter licence keys after moving to a new server.
3. Check your theme
- Go to Appearance → Themes in WordPress.
- Confirm your theme is active and looks correct.
- If you use a page builder like Elementor or Beaver Builder, open a page in the builder to check it loads properly.
4. Test your forms
- Submit a test entry on your contact form.
- Check that the email arrives at the expected address.
- If your form uses a third-party service (such as Mailchimp or HubSpot), confirm the connection is still active.
5. Check your media and images
- Browse your Media Library in WordPress and confirm images display correctly.
- If any images are broken, they may still be pointing to your old domain. You can fix this by running a search and replace. See the WP-CLI database article for instructions.
6. Verify your URLs
- Click links across your site, including internal links, menu items, and buttons.
- If any links point to your old domain, run a search and replace to update them.
- Check that your site URL is correct: go to Settings → General in WordPress and verify the WordPress Address and Site Address fields.
7. Connect your domain
If you have not already connected your custom domain:
- Go to the Domain tab in your Web60 dashboard.
- Follow the instructions to point your domain to Web60.
- Allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation, though it usually completes within a few hours.
See Connecting your domain for full instructions.
8. Check SSL
Once your domain is connected and DNS has propagated:
- Visit your site using
https://and confirm the padlock icon appears in your browser. - Web60 automatically provisions a free SSL certificate for your domain.
- If SSL is not working after 24 hours, see SSL not working.
9. Update any external services
If your site connects to external services, update them with your new server details:
- Google Search Console: verify your site and submit your sitemap
- Google Analytics: confirm tracking is active (or use Web60's built-in analytics)
- Payment gateways: if you run WooCommerce, test a transaction
- CDN or DNS services: update any A records or CNAME records
10. Take a backup
Once you are satisfied everything is working:
- Go to the Backups tab in your Web60 dashboard.
- Create a manual backup. This gives you a clean restore point of your freshly migrated site.

Frequently asked questions
My site looks different after migration. What happened?
Check that all plugins and your theme are active. Some themes and plugins deactivate during migration. Go to your WordPress admin via your Web60 dashboard and reactivate anything that is turned off.
My images are broken after migration. How do I fix this?
Broken images usually mean old URLs are still in the database. Run a search and replace from the terminal using wp search-replace to update URLs from your old domain to your new one. Flush your cache afterwards.
Do I need to update my DNS after migration?
Yes, if you are using a custom domain. Go to the Domain tab in your Web60 dashboard for instructions on pointing your domain to Web60. Until DNS is updated, your domain will still point to your old host.
