How Web60 keeps your website secure

SmartHost & Web603 min read·

Keeping your website safe is one of the most important things we do at Web60. This page explains the steps we take to protect your site, so you can focus on running your business without worrying about online threats.

What is included

Every Web60 website comes with a full set of security features, all included in your plan at no extra cost. You do not need to buy anything extra or configure anything yourself.

Free SSL certificate on every site

Every Web60 website gets a free SSL certificate. This is the padlock icon you see in your browser's address bar. It means the connection between your website and your visitors is protected. Any information submitted through your site, such as a name or email address on a contact form, is kept safe.

Your SSL certificate is set up automatically and renews itself, so you never need to think about it. For more detail, see our guide on SSL certificates.

Daily automatic backups

A complete copy of your website is saved every day, automatically. If something ever goes wrong, whether it is an accidental change or an unexpected problem, your site can be restored to a recent version quickly.

You do not need to remember to back up your site. It happens in the background, every day.

Server-level firewall protection

Your website is protected by a firewall that blocks common online threats before they ever reach your site. This includes things like automated attacks, suspicious traffic, and known security risks.

This protection runs quietly in the background and does not affect how your website works for you or your visitors.

Automatic security updates

The software that powers your website is kept up to date to protect against new threats. Updates are applied carefully to make sure your site continues to work smoothly.

Regular monitoring

Your website is monitored around the clock to check that it is online and working properly. If an issue is detected, our team is alerted so it can be addressed quickly.

What you do not need to worry about

With Web60, you do not need to:

  • Buy or install any security software
  • Set up or renew your SSL certificate
  • Remember to back up your website
  • Apply updates or patches yourself
  • Monitor your site for problems

All of this is taken care of for you as part of your Web60 plan.

A note about your own content

While Web60 protects the platform your website runs on, it is worth remembering that the content you add to your site is your responsibility. For example, if you collect personal information from visitors through a contact form, you should have a privacy policy on your site that explains how you use that information. See our guide on GDPR and your data for more.
