Setting up Zoom for Academy

Academy sessions are delivered over Zoom. Here is how to make sure you are set up and ready.

Installing Zoom

If you do not already have Zoom:

  1. Go to zoom.us/download.
  2. Download the Zoom Workplace app for your computer.
  3. Install it by following the on-screen instructions.

You do not need to create a Zoom account. You can join sessions as a guest.

Joining your session

When the time comes:

  1. Find the Zoom link in your confirmation email or on the My Bookings page.
  2. Click the link to open Zoom.
  3. Enter the password if prompted — this is included in the same email.
  4. Wait in the waiting room until the trainer admits you.

We recommend joining a few minutes early to make sure everything is working.

For the best experience:

  • Use a computer, not a phone or tablet. You will want to follow along on your Web60 site in a separate browser tab.
  • Use headphones if you are in a noisy environment.
  • Close unnecessary apps to keep your computer running smoothly.
  • Have your Web60 portal open in a browser tab so you can follow along with the trainer.

Sharing your screen during Q&A

During the Q&A section, the trainer may invite you to share your screen so they can see what you are working on. To share your screen in Zoom:

  1. Click the Share Screen button at the bottom of the Zoom window.
  2. Choose the browser window showing your website or Web60 portal.
  3. Click Share.

The trainer will guide you through this if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Zoom account?

No. You can join an Academy session without a Zoom account. Just click the link in your confirmation email.

Can I join from my phone?

We recommend using a computer so you can follow along and share your screen during Q&A. A phone will work for watching but the experience is better on a larger screen.
