This article shows you how to keep your payment cards secure when using Web60.
How to Add a New Payment Card Securely
- Log into your Web60 account using your username and password
- Click "Billing" in the left menu - this takes you to your payment settings
- Click "Payment Methods" - you'll see any existing cards listed here
- Click "Add Payment Method" - a secure form will open
- Enter your card details - the form uses bank-level encryption
- Check the card details are correct - especially the expiry date and billing address
- Click "Save Card" - your card is now stored securely
Your card details are encrypted immediately and never stored as plain text on Web60 servers.
Updating Your Default Payment Method
- Go to Billing > Payment Methods in your account
- Find the card you want to use - it will show the last 4 digits
- Click "Set as Default" next to that card - this card will be used for future payments
- Check the green tick appears - this confirms it's now your default payment method
If you need to update card details like expiry date, you'll need to add the card again as a new payment method, then delete the old one.
Removing Old or Expired Cards
- Go to Billing > Payment Methods
- Find the card you want to remove - look for expired cards or old cards you no longer use
- Click "Delete" next to the card - a confirmation box will appear
- Click "Yes, Delete Card" to confirm
You cannot delete your default payment method. If you want to remove it, set a different card as default first.
Recognising Secure Payment Pages
- Look for the padlock icon in your browser address bar
- Check the URL starts with https:// - never enter card details on http:// pages
- Web60 payment pages show "Secured by Stripe" at the bottom of payment forms
- Never enter card details in emails or text messages - Web60 will never ask for card details this way
What to Do If You Spot Suspicious Activity
- Check your Web60 invoice history - look for charges you don't recognise
- Contact your bank immediately if you see unauthorised charges
- Change your Web60 password - use a strong, unique password
- Set up two-factor authentication for extra security - see How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
- Remove the compromised card from your Web60 account
- Add your replacement card once your bank issues it
If you're still stuck with payment security issues, contact Web60 support through your account dashboard. Include details of what you were trying to do when the problem occurred.
