Understanding VAT on Your Web60 Bill

Web60 charges Irish VAT at the current rate on all services. Your invoice will show:

  • Base service amount
  • VAT amount (calculated at Irish rate)
  • Total amount including VAT

If you're VAT registered and provide a valid VAT number, this may affect how VAT is applied to your bill. For specific VAT treatment questions, consult your accountant.

Setting Up VAT Display on Your Website

If you sell products or services through your website, you need to display prices correctly:

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Navigate to your eCommerce settings (if using WooCommerce or similar)
  3. Find "Tax Settings" or "VAT Settings"
  4. Enable "Display prices including VAT" for Irish customers
  5. Set your tax rate to match current Irish VAT rates
  6. Configure tax classes if you sell different types of products

For help with eCommerce setup, see Setting Up WordPress eCommerce.

Invoice and Receipt Management

  1. In your Web60 portal, click "Billing History"
  2. All invoices are stored here with VAT breakdown
  3. Click "Download PDF" to save invoices for your records
  4. Each invoice includes:
    • Your business details
    • VAT registration numbers
    • Service breakdown
    • VAT calculations
    • Payment dates

Keep these invoices for your business tax returns and VAT submissions.

Updating Tax Information

If your VAT status changes:

  1. Return to "Account Settings" > "Business Details"
  2. Update your VAT number or remove it if no longer registered
  3. Change your business type if needed
  4. Save your changes

Changes apply to future invoices immediately. Past invoices cannot be altered.

Revenue Online Service (ROS) Requirements

For Irish businesses using Revenue Online Service:

  • Download your Web60 invoices monthly
  • Include hosting costs in your business expense claims
  • VAT registered businesses can reclaim VAT on Web60 services
  • Keep digital copies of all invoices

Web60 invoices meet Revenue requirements for digital business expenses.
