Why some sections on my homepage appear blank

Building Your Website1 min read·

After the Web60 AI Site Builder creates your site, you may notice some sections on your homepage that appear as solid colour blocks — no image, just a flat background. This is normal.

Why it happens

The AI Site Builder creates your site layout with image placeholders. These sections are designed to contain a background image or photo, but since the builder does not have your personal photos, it leaves them as solid colour blocks for you to fill in.

How to fix them

  1. Open your homepage in the WordPress editor.
  2. Click on the blank section.
  3. Look for an Upload or Replace option in the block toolbar or the right sidebar.
  4. Upload your own photo or choose one from the Media Library.
  5. Click Update to save.

For step-by-step image instructions, see our guide on adding images.

Tips

  • Use high-quality photos that represent your business — your premises, your team, your products.
  • If you do not have suitable photos yet, you can delete the blank section for now and add it back later when you have images ready.
  • Landscape images (wider than they are tall) work best for full-width sections.

Frequently asked questions

Are blank sections a bug?

No. They are image placeholders created by the AI Site Builder. The sections are designed to hold images — once you add your own photos, they will look complete.

Can I delete blank sections instead of adding images?

Yes. Click the section in the block editor, click the three dots menu, and select Remove block.
