What's the difference between a demo and a paid plan?

Getting Started3 min read·

Web60 offers two ways to get started: a free demo and a paid plan. Both let you build a real website, but there are some important differences.

What you get with a demo

A demo is a free way to try out Web60 before you commit. Here is what is included:

  • Free to use with no payment details required.
  • Temporary web address. Your site uses a smartsitebuilder.ie address (for example, yourname.smartsitebuilder.ie). This is not a custom domain.
  • Limited time. Demos are available for a set period so you can explore and experiment.
  • Full site building tools. You can use the Web60 Site Builder and your WordPress editor to create pages, add images, and design your site.
  • No backup management. Automatic backups are not available on demo sites.
  • No custom domain. You cannot connect your own domain name (like yourbusiness.ie) to a demo.

A demo is perfect if you want to see what Web60 can do before making a decision. You can read more about starting a demo in our try a demo guide.

What you get with a paid plan

The paid plan costs €60 per year plus VAT. It includes everything you need to run a professional website:

  • Your own domain. Connect a domain you already own, or register a new one. See our guide on connecting your domain.
  • Permanent website. Your site stays live for as long as your plan is active.
  • Daily automatic backups. A complete copy of your website is saved every day, so you can restore it if anything goes wrong.
  • Full dashboard access. Manage your domain, backups, analytics, files, and more from your Web60 dashboard.
  • SSL certificate. Your site is secured with a padlock icon in the browser, which tells visitors your site is safe. This is set up automatically.
  • Support from the Web60 team. Get help whenever you need it.

You can learn more about purchasing in our buying Web60 guide.

Upgrading from a demo to a paid plan

When you are ready to move from a demo to a paid plan, the process is simple. All your pages, images, and content are kept exactly as they are, so nothing is lost. You just gain access to all the extra features that come with the paid plan.

You can start the upgrade from your Web60 dashboard.
