The AI Logo Generator requires your website to be using the Extendable theme — the theme used by the Web60 AI Site Builder. If your site uses a different WordPress theme, the Logo page will show a message explaining this requirement.
Why this requirement exists
When you apply a logo through the Logo Generator, the system modifies your WordPress site in several ways:
- Updates the header template part to set logo sizing
- Sets the site logo and favicon in theme settings
- Optionally hides the site title via CSS
These changes are designed specifically for the Extendable theme's header structure. Applying them to a different theme could result in broken layouts, misaligned logos, or invisible changes.
To ensure a reliable experience, the Logo Generator checks your site's active theme before allowing generation, refinement, or application.
What you see if your theme is not compatible
If your site uses a different theme, the Logo page shows:
- A message explaining that the Logo Generator requires the Extendable theme
- The name of the theme your site is currently using
- A link to the My Website page where you can manage your theme
You will not be able to generate, refine, or apply logos until the theme is changed.
How to switch to the Extendable theme
If you want to use the Logo Generator and your site currently uses a different theme:
- Create a backup of your site first (see Creating a Backup)
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard
- Go to Appearance then Themes
- Find Extendable and click Activate
- Return to the Logo page in your Web60 portal — the Logo Generator should now be available
If you built your site using the Web60 AI Site Builder, the Extendable theme is already active and you do not need to do anything.
Alternative: manual logo upload
If you prefer to keep your current theme and do not want to switch, you can still:
- Use the public Logo Generator on web60.ie to create and download a logo
- Upload it manually through the WordPress Site Editor (see How to Add Your Logo Manually)
This approach works with any theme but does not offer the one-click application, automatic sizing, or title hiding features.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it only work with the Extendable theme?
The Logo Generator applies logos by modifying WordPress template parts and theme settings. The Extendable theme (used by the AI Site Builder) has a specific header structure that the system knows how to work with. Other themes have different structures that could lead to broken layouts.
Can I switch to the Extendable theme without losing my content?
Switching themes changes the visual design of your site but does not delete your pages, posts, or media. However, your site may look different and some customisations specific to the old theme may not carry over. Consider creating a backup first.
Will more themes be supported in future?
We plan to add support for additional themes over time. For now, the Extendable theme provides the best and most reliable experience.
